How did we disappoint you and what can we do to fix it?

Surprise $50 diagnostic fee when you were instructed what repair was needed.

Since your battery had lost the charge twice, you suspected the problem was either with the alternator or the lead wire being loose. Those were only two of many possible issues.

The diagnostic testing was requested because you wanted to be certain you were not spending $400 on an unnecessary alternator. The $50 diagnostic charge was agreed to prior to leaving your vehicle with us. Having an accuarate diagnosis prior to a car repair or a surgical procedure takes the guesswork away and assures the best outcome.

We save customers hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs and earn their trust by knowing exactly what is needed and doing it right the first time. We won't fix it if it's not broken!

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to fix it?

I was given an estimate for over $1,100. I could not afford that on an auto worth $4,000. I took the car to Porter Automotive in Lewisville and they completely fixed the auto for less than $200.00. The repaired it without removing the dashboard like you all said was necessary. I paid you $85.00 for the estimate and after hearing an advertisement on Dave Ramsey saying first time customers would get $25.00 off for mentioning the ad. The ad does not say you must spend $100.00 like you all told me it did. I feel very "ripped off" and would like a refund of the $85.00 estimate or at least a partial refund. The car has been fixed for two weeks and the a/c runs perfectly.

We are sorry about the confusion regarding your estimate and the Dave Ramsey discount. The radio ad was confused with our internet coupon which is $25 off a repair of $100. I will be mailing you a check for $25 and thank you for making us aware of our error.

The $79.95 charge was for the diagnostic testing you requested. Estimates are always done as a courtesy.

Your vehicle had 3 separate A/C problems. The schrader valve and the vacuum check valve for the dash were leaking, causing the freon to be a pound low. Our estimate to replace the valves, evacuate and recharge the system with freon was $202.83. This repair, which did not require removing the dash, would have given you cold air and reduced the diagnostic charge $30. This is most likely the repair that was done to your vehicle for a reasonable cost.

The repair requiring the dash to be removed was to replace 2 broken doors in the dash that help control hot to cold temperatures and recirculating fresh air. The cost of $743.20 is due to the labor involved in removing the dash. The estimate to clean and service the corroded battery cable ends was $20.23.

Friendliness of Front Office. Also I am a female with some knowledge on automobile repairs and it is nice not feeling intimidated and be treated with respect when you speak with the front office staff/technicians about the condition/servicing of your car.

I followed my Ace mechanic, Lance, to your company. He told me that if he was ever on vacation, I could trust any mechanic there to work on my car. In the ten years that Lance has been working on my cars, I have never heard him say that. Thank you so much for your: friendly office staff, sticking to the estimate, offering to give me a ride home if I needed it, and for putting up with my many questions. :)
